Sr. Maureen Geary will lead Grand Rapids liberal arts institution and its 1,200 students.

Sister Maureen Geary was unanimously selected by Aquinas College Board of Trustees to serve as its 10th president.

The Dominican sister has served as the college’s interim president since April.

Geary’s connection with Aquinas College dates back to1987 when she became a sister and worked as an assistant professor of accounting and business law. She moved into Financial Administration and then served six years as controller and Vice President of Finance.

“Fast forward later years I’ve served on the Board (of Trustees) and I’ve served on committees. But really, I say Aquinas is in my bones. I’ve been connected with and in love with Aquinas for a long time.”

President Geary’s inauguration will be held during Homecoming in September.
