Consumers Energy crews are making upgrades to deliver electricity more reliably in the Cedar Springs area this week.
The work will interrupt electricity to about 4000 homes and businesses.
Crews are working on the substation in the area around 17 Mile Road overnight from 11 PM Tuesday, July 1 until as late as 4 AM Wednesday.
Consumers Energy often schedules work like this overnight when many people are asleep to minimize disruptions to businesses and other activities.
Similar work is also scheduled for the substation near Gun Lake next week affecting about 4,000 homes and businesses from 9 PM Saturday, July 12 until as late as 7 AM Sunday.
Consumers notes customers in the affected areas are notified through emails and postcards.
