The Homecoming of the Three Fires is a spring celebration hosted by the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians. The gathering serves as a way for Native American tribes to reconnect and highlight their heritage.

The Ottawa, Potawatomi and Ojibwe tribes are known as the Three Fires. The event is sponsored by the Match-E-Nash-She-Wish Band of the Potawatomi Indians, Gun Lake Tribe and the City of Grand Rapids.

Festivities include Native American music, dancing, drums, food and crafts for all ages. Money raised at the event goes toward next year’s celebration.

The event will be held at Grand Rapids’ Riverside Park starting Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Sunday beginning at noon. The event is free and open to everyone.
