The issue began in March when the subcommittee chair gave the state A-G a couple weeks to provide several documents related to the Flint Water Crisis.
Attorney General Dana Nessel had asked for and received an extension on that request, leading to a new deadline that passed this week.
Now, there’s confusion over whether the documents Nessel’s office turned over actually complied with the request.
Republicans in committee leadership say a flash drive they received contained “an incomplete, incoherent mess of documents.”
Meanwhile, Nessel says she gave a link to a website detailing public spending on the case… and that the flash drive did include requested items that could be found with a deeper look.
The exchange is occurring while the oversight committee is also targeting the Michigan Secretary of State for allegedly not complying with a separate request.
