Statewide poll indicates registered Michigan voters dissatisfied with President Trump’s handling of U.S. economy

Trump underwater on his job approval ratings reducing inflation and tariff policies.

Lansing-based EPIC-MRA recently conducted a survey of 600 registered Michigan voters, 80-percent by cell phone.

Of those who answered, 43% identify as Republican, 41% Democrat and 12% Independent.

Respondents were asked about the job Donald Trump is doing as President, 41% say he’s doing a good job, while 56% say he’s not.

His handling of the U.S. economy received a similar appraisal with 38% giving Trump a positive rating compared with 58% negative.

When it comes to reducing inflation and the cost of living only 33% say the President is doing a good job compared with 62% giving him a negative assessment.

Finally, respondents were asked about President Trump’s actions and policies on tariffs with foreign countries; 40% support his efforts, 52% do not.

The survey has a plus/minus error of 4-percent.
