The new headquarters will be in the future Center for Latino Economic and Talent Advancement on Godfrey Avenue SW in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood, an area leaders call the hub of the area’s Hispanic and Latino population.
The two-story building will anchor future development along the Godfrey corridor, offering commercial space and on-site parking.
The goal is to advance economic opportunities for Hispanic/Latino owned businesses and support professional growth of leaders in West Michigan.
The Chamber has already raised more than $9 million in its capital campaign of $11.6 million to support the project, which includes seeding an endowment for long-term sustainability.
The Chamber cites statistics the Hispanic population in West Michigan grew by 67 percent from 2010 to 2020, making up 16 percent of the population.
Officials believe expanding with a new space will allow program growth and community advancement.
