The ongoing effort for the City of Grand Rapids to provide clean, accessible water now and into the future requires education, stewardship and a skilled workforce.
A news release says that’s why the City of Grand Rapids in partnership with Grand Rapids Community College and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is bringing back Water Pool-ooza. It’s a free hands-on educational series for students and families to explore water quality, sustainability and careers in the water industry.
City Officials says Water Pool-ooza events provide a unique opportunity for participants to follow the journey of drinking water, engage in interactive exhibits and meet professionals working in water-related careers. With the growing demand for water professionals, these events aim to inspire the next generation of water champions while fostering an understanding of the importance of clean, fresh water.
You can find Water Pool-ooza events on the Lakeshore Saturday April 19th at the Lake Filtration Plant and at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids on June 7th.
