"Building Foundations, Building Hope" project - Building 2, 8 Units

Flat River Outreach Ministries expects housing units move-in ready in Summer 2026.

Three new buildings featuring 17 apartments dedicated to individual and family occupancy will be constructed through Flat River Outreach Ministries’ “Building Foundations, Building Hope” $3.3 million capital campaign.

The affordable housing campus with a capacity for up to 40 residents will take shape next to the non-profit’s 504 Main Street location.

Flat River Outreach Ministries commissioned studies discovering 43% of Lowell renters are considered ‘cost-burdened’ with more than 30% of their income dedicated to housing. It also found over 30% of respondents struggled to pay the rent in the past year.

The affordable housing footprint will feature a gathering greenspace, room for gardening and on-site parking.

So far, $2.6 million dollars have been raised.

Flat River Outreach Ministries expects the project to be move-in ready in Summer 2026.
