Puppies rescued from overcrowded shelter in Louisiana

A rescue flight is scheduled to land in Grand Rapids Friday with dogs aboard, saved from overcrowded shelters in Louisiana

BISSELL Pet Foundation is providing rescue flight transportation for dogs saved from overcrowded shelters in Louisiana, including two litters of puppies that were dumped outside and abandoned days before Christmas.

The dogs will get second chances for adoption at animal welfare organizations in Traverse City, West Olive, Muskegon and Kalamazoo.

All dogs on the flight have been examined by veterinarians, vaccinated and provided with health certificates.

BISSELL has created a network to support shelters that previously had nowhere else to turn and partnered with Pilots to the Rescue, an organization devoted to saving homeless pets from euthanasia by transporting them to larger shelters, where they are more likely to be adopted.
