The $2 million renovation of the over 30,000 square-foot Cascade Township library is expected to begin construction on February 2nd, when it will close for the day for renovation prep. The library will also be closed February 9th, according to its website.

The last day the library will be open is February 16th, when it will close until early June. During construction, a limited selection of popular books and media will be available in the Good and Skutt rooms of the Wisner Center, which is located at the back of the library.
The project includes upgrading lighting, doors and bathrooms, as well as moving the children’s area, removing walls for more space and modifying shelves for better light and access.

Patrons will still be able to pick up holds, return items and use curbside service during construction, and programs will continue as space allows.
The Cascade Township Board of Trustees approved funds for the project at its January 22nd meeting. Funding comes from an expired millage, as well as a millage renewal approved by voters in November 2024.
