Through HUD’s Service Coordinator in Multifamily Housing program, funds will be allocated to 104 grantees who pay the salaries and benefits for service coordinator professionals at 107 affordable family homes across the country.
These coordinators help connect residents aged 62 or older and persons with disabilities with independent living resources. These resources include financial management assistance, health and well-being programs, and opportunities for social connections. Coordinators also assist property management to better assess tenant needs.
Of the 107 communities receiving funds across the country, four are in West Michigan.
In Holland, Wildwood Creek Limited Dividend Housing Association is receiving over $349,000, while Lee Center Senior Apartments is receiving over $354,000.
In Muskegon, Hickory Village Associates is receiving almost $311,000.
And in Rockford, Bishops’ Housing Corporation is receiving nearly $351,000.
HUD says tenants have the option to choose services according to their preferences.
