Jennifer Headley-Nordman is the President of First Steps Kent, a nonprofit that works with professionals to build a comprehensive early childhood system in Kent County. She says these sessions are meant to empower stakeholders with policy tools, knowledge, and strategies needed to support Kent County children.
“We know that investing in early childhood programs and services has outcomes throughout a lifetime, and so it’s not just about healthy development and kindergarten readiness, it’s really about making sure that we have citizens that are ready to graduate high school, go on to lead successful lives, and then to be ready to enter our workforce as they become adults.”
Headley-Nordman says they plan on having more Vision Forward sessions in the future.
“We’ll have conversations about what we see, any changes at the state or federal level, how those could potentially impact positively or negatively local families and children, and as a community, we’ll come together and we’ll always continue to fight for what’s best for our children here in Kent County.”
