Tuesday, Trinity Health Michigan said its Humana Medicare Advantage patients will be out-of-network effective January 1st, 2025.
In a statement, Trinity called the situation deeply disappointing and said it’s been in negotiations with Humana for several months, adding it did everything in its power to protect patient access and remain in Humana’s network for care and services.
Trinity says it will continue to try and reach a fair agreement with Humana. It suggests patients who are covered under Humana and currently receiving treatment at Trinity to reach out to Humana and urge them to reinstate their in-network access to Trinity Health and its providers.
Trinity operates several facilities in West Michigan, including hospitals in Grand Rapids, Grand Haven, Muskegon and Shelby.
It also announced Tuesday that it has reached a multiyear agreement to remain within the Aetna network.
