The leader of a Muskegon company is recovering after being stabbed by an employee during a staff meeting Tuesday

Fruitport Township Police were called to Anderson Express Inc. on South Mill Iron Road in Muskegon Tuesday morning to investigate the report of a stabbing at the business.

Police say about 9:20 a.m. during a staff meeting with employees, the president of Anderson Express was stabbed in the side with a knife by a thirty-two-year-old male employee.

That employee ran from the business, got into his vehicle and fled, but was stopped by police and taken into custody about fifteen minutes later.

Fellow employees described the suspect as having a quiet demeanor.

The victim underwent surgery and remains in serious condition but is considered stable.

Police are reviewing video recordings from the scene; and have not yet released a motive for the stabbing.
