The allegations center around whether a former Michigan Wolverines staffer snuck onto the Chippewas sideline during a game last year

In September 2023, then-Wolverines staffer Connor Stallions, allegedly disguised himself as a CMU coach during a game against Michigan State.

Stallions is accused of stealing play call signals from other coaches. He's denied that.

Now, the NCAA is investigating CMU over the incident and are looking into what coach McElwain knew.

At a press conference last year, McElwain denied any knowledge of Stallions' presence on the sidelines

"I do know that his name was on none of the passes that were let out. Now we just keep tracing it back and tracing it back and try to figure it out but it's in good hands with our people."

The NCAA said they do not comment on investigations.

A CMU spokesperson said the university is cooperating with the investigation.
