The public will have an opportunity to hear more about the proposed downtown Grand Rapids’ Fulton and Market Redevelopment Project featuring three high-rise buildings

The Community Development Committee has set a date of November 12th at 9:15 AM for a public hearing on the major downtown project.

“It’s a rather sizeable deal being a Transformational Brownfield Plan, it’s our third one for the city of Grand Rapids.”

Sarah Rainero is the city’s economic director. The project has already been approved by the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and a tax incentive plan was approved by the Downtown Development Authority.

“This is a pretty big piece of the process, and we anticipate these next steps in the coming weeks rounding out the commission process with the public comment here on November 12th.”

The project being proposed by Fulmar Property Holdings, LLC would be built at the corner of Fulton Street and Market Avenue.

“Three high-rise towers including office, residential and hotel condo building, 671 housing units, that’s both apartments and condos, $797 million in total development costs, parking associated to each of those towers, and then approximately 1,900 full-time jobs.”

If approved, construction of the office tower portion of the project could begin in fall 2025.
