Students in Wyoming can now get walk-in health care right in their high school, thanks to a new medical center open this week

Cherry Health opened a new health center at Godwin Heights High School in Wyoming.

It’s open to students aged 3-21 enrolled in Godwin Heights Public Schools for health services including well-child visits, sports physicals, immunizations and counseling.

A state grant allowed Cherry Health to renovate space for three exam rooms, a laboratory, front desk and private behavioral health office inside the Physical Education Building.

School officials say it will make routine health care more accessible to families, build healthy habits for students and cut down on time away from the classroom.

Students can make appointments or walk in for care Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays from 7:30am – 4pm.

Most insurance is accepted, and a sliding fee payment scale is available, along with interpreter services.

It’s Cherry Health’s fourth school-based health center with the three others in Grand Rapids Public Schools.
