Ottawa County’s Park Township will hold a town hall meeting this evening about the new proposed community center

In July 2022, Park Township’s community center was destroyed by a lightning-caused fire. Township officials are now asking community members and stakeholders what they want to see in its replacement.

Over 200 youth, 82 adults, 140 seniors and 12 businesses and organizations have offered input, ranging from a gym, public rental room, and basketball court to exercise classes, art lessons, and accessibility for those with disabilities listed as important features.

Those ideas have been condensed into a unified vision which will be presented to the public and the Board of Trustees at this evening’s town hall meeting.

The presentation will include a recap of the overall vision for the center, proposed amenities, conceptual designs, and an outline for how the center could be operated and funded.

The meeting will take place this evening at the Park Township Hall from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and a Q & A session will follow the presentation.

You can learn more about the proposed community center online here.
