The art competition has expanded into neighborhoods beyond downtown

“We are very community focused this year.”

Theresa Anderson is The ArtPrize director of operations. This year she says there are 950 artists showing their creations in 165 venues downtown and in neighborhoods outside the center city.

“We are really trying to bring ArtPrize into the community. And produce some really fund events for people to come and participate alongside looking at all the fabulous art”

This is the 13th ArtPrize. Hundreds of thousands of visitors come to look, and director of volunteers Emerson Antcliff says strategically placed volunteers will make them feel welcome.

“We could not do ArtPrize without volunteers. We get thousands of visitors every year. It doesn’t just take a village it takes a city.”

New this year, Anderson say votes for every entry will be accepted throughout the 15-day competition,

“You will be able to vote all the way to the end.”

ArtPrize officially starts Friday evening with an opening celebration and party on the Pearl Street Bridge.

“We encourage everyone to come down and have a look at all the new things that are going to be happening.”
