Michigan Democrats seek reset with Harris at top of ticket

Vice President Kamala Harris

Michigan Democrats are holding events to try to reset the presidential race in the swing state now that Vice President Kamala Harris is poised to be their presidential candidate.

Democrats are anxious for a course correction in Michigan, where polls showed Biden struggling against former President Donald Trump.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says Harris is not only younger, but will be a different candidate than Biden in both style and substance.

“She’ll have a lot of policies in common with President Biden, but, you know, she will have, I guess, her own agenda, as well.”

The stakes are not only Michigan’s 15 electoral votes, but the top of the ticket will also affect close congressional races, a competitive race for an open U-S Senate seat and Democrats’ control of the Michigan House of Representatives.
