“Abandon Biden” movement remains skeptical of Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris

The movement opposed to President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign over his stance toward Israel’s war in Gaza could extend to Vice President Kamala Harris

Members of the “Abandon Biden” effort sought to sink Biden’s candidacy entirely, arguing it was too little too late when the president began echoing calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Now that Biden has dropped out of the 2024 race, the Abandon Biden movement is viewing Vice President Harris’s possible candidacy with skepticism.

Dearborn community organizer Samraa Luqman says she doesn’t see Harris taking a much different view on Israel compared to Biden.

“I’m so confounded as to how they continue to espouse the same policies and same rhetoric that has led to the demise of Biden that has led to him being a one term president. How do you not see that and learn from it?”

The Harris campaign did not provide an immediate comment.
