The Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit brings residents and stakeholders together to learn, strategize and connect to strengthen local neighborhoods. The overall goal of the summit is to make Grand Rapids a more equitable place for everyone to live, work and play.
This year’s theme is “Embracing the Power of Tension, Tenacity & Intentionality.” The summit will feature a series of workshops that will explore ways to foster belonging and inclusivity within Grand Rapids neighborhoods.
Summit participants come from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, age groups and identities. According to organizers, the appreciation of inclusivity has consistently ranked as one of the top themes of past events, through prioritizing partnerships with Black, Indigenous and People of Color owned businesses.
This year, organizers anticipate 500 attendees, providing free day care for children 5 and under, along with food, activities, prizes, music, and more.
The summit will be held at Grand Valley State University’s Pew Campus in downtown Grand Rapids from 8 am to 4 pm.
