A West Michigan brewer is teaming up with the state to support wildlife habitats through beer sales

Saugatuck Brewing Company is joining forces with the Department of Natural Resources to raise awareness and money to restore wildlife habitats across Michigan.

During trout fishing season from May to October, SBC will donate proceeds for every case sold of its popular Rainbow Rodeo IPA.

Saugatuck Brewing’s CEO says it’s a new way to help solve old problems, and this particular IPA focuses on Michigan's reputation as a fly-fishing mecca and celebrates its tens of thousands of trout streams and hundreds of trout lakes.

The money generated from the partnership will focus on Michigan’s waters: battling invasive species, growing fish populations and ensuring sustainable fishing for future generations.

The public is welcome to make their own contributions online through September 30.
