More than one million people in Michigan have already cast their ballot in the Presidential primary election.
The primary marks the first time people in the state have had the option to vote early.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says 78,000 people voted early in-person, with 11,000 coming Sunday.
“What that also tells us is that the more citizens hear about early voting as an option the more likely they are to take advantage of it.”
Benson says, in other states where early voting has been implemented, it usually takes a full election cycle before people get accustomed to being able to do it.
The polls are open from 7 am to 8 pm Tuesday.
