“Acceptance of superintendent resignation.”
At a special meeting Friday night, the Grant Board of Education accepted the immediate resignation of superintendent Brett Zuver. No reason was given. Rob Schuitema was the only board member to vote no.
“Our superintendent was forced into this resignation and pressured by this board and this board president. Brett Zuver is a good man.”
Zuver is the former principal at Kenowa Hills and Belding High Schools and has been Grant superintendent since 2019. Parent Kelly Brown said it was time for him to go.
“This superintendent was so lacking in the knowledge and skills to do the job and so arrogant and unwilling to learn them.”
Megan Wentz disagreed with the decision.
“Shame on all of you for pushing a man out and ruining his life.”
In a Facebook post the Board of Education called the resignation a mutual decision.
“He has put this district in a position that can and will be detrimental to the education of the children of this community.”
“Shame. Shame on you.”
