Lowell Charter Township receives state funding for Covenant Business Park preparation

New Strategic Site Readiness Program supports development of industrial and commercial business park.

Approximately eight miles east of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport along I-96 at the Alden Nash Avenue SE exit is a 273-acre parcel of land and future home of the Covenant Business Park. It’s one of 18 statewide locations the Michigan Economic Development Corporation is assisting with preparation through the Strategic Site Readiness Program.

Project Partners Lowell Charter Township and Franklin Partners will receive $17.5 million through SSRP, that’s half of the $35 million needed to get 190 acres development ready for industrial and commercial use with sewer extension and connection among other essential infrastructure services and utilities.
