The MDARD has launched a new online system aimed at helping food and agriculture business owners easily apply for grants

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development launched MiAgGrants, a streamlined system meant to reduce barriers and allow more access to the MDARD’s grant opportunities.

The new online system is designed to help manage those grant programs from the proposal stage all the way to closing out of a grant award. The MDARD says that, for ease of access, the system will support the development of an electronic grant application submission, a competitive application review process and management of the awarded grant projects.

Additionally, the system will allow the MDARD to send applicants reminders and communicate more easily with those who have already been awarded grants. An online dashboard will help users navigate the website as well as view all of the grants currently being offered and the status of those they’ve already applied for.
