UAW President Fain says the contract has nonunion automakers taking notice

United Auto Workers leaders detailed the tentative deal with Stellantis to members last night.

It includes across the board 25-percent wage increases plus a return of cost-of-living adjustments.

UAW President Shawn Fain says the contract was so good, nonunion automakers are taking notice.

“Toyota isn't giving out raises out of the goodness of their heart Toyota is the largest and most profitable auto company in the world they could have just as easily raised wages a month ago or a year ago they did it now because the company knows we're coming for him”

Fain also says the union was able to secure about 19-Billion dollars in investments, including four assembly plants in Metro Detroit and one in Toledo.

The agreement also states there will be some consolidation of parts and distribution centers, but Fain says most jobs would be saved.
