Grand Valley State University’s Master Plan includes a renovation and construction of additional learning space at its downtown Grand Rapids Eberhard Center. The nine-story building constructed in 1988 is located along the west bank of the Grand River. It’s the focal point of GVSU’s Blue Dot. A $140 million project creating a new Center for Talent, Technology and Transformation.
GVSU's Vice President and Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer, Stacie Behler, issued this statement, “Grand Valley State University is excited and grateful to see our request for funding for our Blue Dot Lab moving forward. The Blue Dot will serve to revitalize the physical space necessary to serve as the center of gravity for our community’s tech strategy as well as drive investments in growing the talent needed to fuel the tech economy in our state. GVSU students, faculty and our corporate and community partners will all benefit from the Blue Dot.”
The project will create technology-centered learning spaces for numerous disciplines and reimagine Eberhard Center’s current 160,000 square feet and construct a 15,000 square foot addition.
