Gerald R. Ford International Airport recognized as nation’s best small market airport

Gerald R. Ford International Airport USA TODAY Reader's Choice 2023 Best Small Airport

GRR receives 2023 USA TODAY Reader’s Choice Award.

The Gerald R. Ford International Airport has received the USA TODAY Reader’s Choice Award after being voted the best small market airport. An expert panel selected 20 finalists, then put them to a public vote.

Huntsville International Airport was runner-up followed by Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.

USA TODAY made note of commercial flight offerings, easy access, and amenities.

Ford exceeds the number of small market guests it serves. The industry average is 992,000. In 2022, Ford International Airport served more than 3.4 million guests.
