Supermercado Mexico adding fourth store in Grand Rapids and Wyoming area.

In the Roosevelt Park Neighborhood, Supermercado Mexico grocery store will transform a vacant two-story building located at 900 East Cesar Chavez Avenue Southwest. A business district that’s undergoing a revitalization.

Currently in the Grand Rapids and Wyoming areas there are three Supermercado Mexico grocery stores. Ben Cochran is general manager.

“This proposed space is going to be something very similar, if not equal, to our current operations right now which is the primary sale of Hispanic based products.” Including beer and wine sales.

Olivera Enterprises which owns and operates the groceries is investing $4.1 million renovating the more than 33,000-square-foot building. The grocery store on the ground floor with offices on the second floor. The building’s brick façade will be reimagined with the installation of windows. Three parking lots will be resurfaced with landscaping.
