Destiny Villas killed on Monday in what is being described as a "targeted attack."

Muskegon Authorities said Thursday they have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a 24-year-old mother earlier this week.

The Muskegon Police Department says two men are in custody for their involvement that in the murder of Destiny Villas, a young mother who was pregnant with her third child at the time of her death.

Villas was shot Monday in the city's 600 block of Catherine Avenue near Madison Street.

Police say they have since arrested a 17-year-old man from Muskegon Heights and a 21-year-old man from Muskegon Heights within the last several days on “related charges.” Names have not been yet released; however, authorities do believe it was a targeted murder.

The charges too have not been released, but the MPD says they two are set to be arraigned and additional details would be forthcoming.

It is not clear if the unborn baby survived the shooting. Officials say it is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact the Muskegon Police Department at 231-724-6750 or Silent Observer at 231-722-7463.
