The “Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development” is launching a new grant program to help agriculture businesses comply with environmental regulations

The “Wastewater Infrastructure Fund Program” is geared toward Michigan-based agriculture and food processors under state oversight.

The grants offer up to 2-million-dollars per project.

That’ll help pay for costs, including site review, equipment, and sampling analysis.

Grant recipients will have to hit milestones like receiving a permit from the state’s environmental regulators, having an approved discharge management plan, and confirmation of compliance.

The application period is now open. It will last until the 30-million-dollars set aside for the grants run out.
