US COAST GUARD

Among candidates—a former mayor and the mayor that beat him last election.

Next Tuesday is primary election day, and in Ottawa County, four candidates have thrown their hats into the ring to be the next mayor of Grand Haven.

Andrea Hendrick is a Geographic Information System) Analyst, a Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce Member and has served on the City of Grand Haven Planning Commission.

Benjamin Genser is Vice President – Investments, JPMorgan Chase Bank and holds a Master of Business from the University of Michigan.

Robert Monetza, if the name sounds familiar it’s because he has already served as Mayor of Grand Haven for one term—that ended when Monetza lost his title to current Grand Haven Mayor and incumbent Catherine McNally in 2021.

McNally is seeking re-election and is one of the four candidates in next week’s primary, where the top two in votes will move on to the general election this fall, that date is set for November 7th.
