Lakeshore in Ferrysburg had tested positive for E.Coli on July 5th

Officials say, it's once again safe to swim in Ferrysburg after E. Coli had been detected at North Beach Park.

Residents and visitors to the Lake Michigan beach had been told to stay out of the water after high levels of E. Coli were discovered during routing testing on July 5th.

The no-body contact was lifted Sunday. According to Ottawa County, the beach is now in compliance with Michigan’s Water Quality Standards and is open to the public.

Officials believe the high levels of E. Coli were from dredging happening nearby.
