Fix pleaded guilty to providing material support for a terrorist act in connection with a 2020 plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Another of the five defendants accused of being involved in a plot to kidnap governor Gretchen Whitmer, has changed his plea to guilty.

“HAMLYN: Okay, Mr. Fix. It's up to you then sir. As to count one terrorist acts providing material support, a 20 year felony here in the state of Michigan. How do you wish to plead?

FIX: Guilty”

40-year-old Shawn Fix told 13th Circuit Court Judge Charles Hamlyn he provided material support for an act of terrorism, when he helped locate the governor’s vacation home in Elk Rapids.

As part of his plea agreement, Fix may need to testify in the trial of his three co-defendants in August. Prosecutors also agreed to drop a weapon charge.

Brian Higgins was the first of the five to plead guilty back in March.

Both he and Fix will receive their sentence after the trial.
