Kent County Sheriff's Office arrest six teens in crime spree involving multiple felonies

Youths suspected in slew of crimes including stolen cars, stolen guns and armed robbery

Following a string of armed robberies, stolen cars and other felonies, Kent County Authorities say a group of teenagers have been arrested in connection with the.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, authorities arrested 5 teenage males and 1 female Wednesday in the City of Wyoming. Detectives say the arrests came after the six youths had gone on a crime spree that involved stolen guns, cars, credit cards, armed robbery and police pursuits.

The Sheriff’s Office says investigators caught a break in the case when a stolen Jeep stolen was spotted at a nearby hotel. Investigators were able to identify a room where several suspects were believed to be staying. Five suspects were walking from the hotel toward the Jeep as police closed in. All five ran and were apprehended after a short foot pursuit. After a search warrant was conducted of the hotel room, an additional suspect and stolen pistol were found. Another stolen pistol was found in the Jeep.

Investigators submitted sixteen total charges for the group of six for review. KCSO detectives believe this group has been responsible for many stolen car complaints, and fitness center thefts, and was likely involved in a police pursuit with deputies on May 23rd, 2023, among others.

Authorities say the group may have been involved in several other crimes as well and are investigating.
