Ottawa County voters in Grand Haven Charter Township approved bonds for a new fire and rescue facility, while the area’s public school district both won and lost Tuesday—as residents approved the renewal of an operating fund millage, while rejecting a $155 million bond proposal that would have paid for the construction of a new middle school.
In the City of Holland, voters said “yes” to the sale of two parcels of public land downtown. Officials say the move will overhaul the city’s lakefront corridor and allow developers to construct a new hotel and large cruise ship dock on the property.
Meanwhile, voters overwhelmingly approved a West Ottawa Public Schools Operating Millage Renewal Proposal by an unofficial 70 percent of votes cast.
