One of several new developments downtown, Harbor 31 on Muskegon Lake promises to redefine the city’s relationship with the shoreline.
The project, located at 650 Terrace St., includes a new hotel, marina, retail, and office spaces.
In addition, however, it offers some relief to Muskegon’s housing crisis, including 15 single family homes and 16 duplex units, 134-unit apartment complex; a senior living facility, and the construction of Harbor 31 Commons, which will include 88 apartment and condominium units that will sit above restaurants and storefronts.
Developer Dan Henrickson.
“It’s great to see things getting going,” he said.
The project is one of several slated for Muskegon lake including Adelaide Pointe and The Docks, both which include lakeshore housing.
The developments come on the heels of a 20 year, $80-million-dollar effort to clean up Muskegon Lake, which served as an industrial waste dumping ground for decades.
