The unidentified “airborne object” that was shot down by the U-S military over Lake Huron Sunday has still not been recovered.

The Department of Defense says the FBI is embedded with the Coast Guard and Canadian agencies to analyze the octagonal object if it's recovered.

During a press briefing, the White House said the object has likely fallen into deep water.

The average depth of Lake Huron is 195 feet—with a maximum depth of 750 feet.

The Department of Defense didn’t comment on the underwater recovery capabilities of the mission.

Lieutenant Colonel Devin Robinson, a Defense Department spokesperson, says anyone who finds debris out on the lake shouldn’t touch it.

“If the public does happen to come across anything that they believe to be debris from these incidents. They're asked not to handle it, but to contact local law enforcement immediately.”

Michigan Senator Gary Peters says he’s received a classified briefing on the recovery mission.
