61-year-old Gleen Anthony Davis faces life in prison for the murder of Muskegon Heights School Board member Julius Muhammad.
Davis is accused of shooting Muhammad on December 19th in his Muskegon Heights home following an earlier confrontation.
Police have stated that they do not believe the shooting is related to the Muskegon Heights School Board’s ongoing issues in any way, rather, Davis is the boyfriend of Muhammad’s ex-wife, and police believe a custody battle over their daughter may have motivated Davis to murder.
At Tuesday’s preliminary hearing, a man testified he drove Davis to Muskegon Heights on the night of the shooting, and that he was angry with Muhammad at the time.
Meanwhile, a detective from the MHPD testified that surveillance footage helped authorities identify Davis as the main suspect.
On Tuesday, a Muskegon County Circuit Court judge Tuesday bound Davis over for trial on open murder charges.
