SnackCraft is expanding its global market presence with the manufacturing of its crackers, crisps and baked goods in the City of Kentwood. It’s making a $41.75 million capital investment redeveloping the former Kerry Foods facility.
Greece-based Unismack S.A. owns SnackCraft. It’s known for its product line featuring natural ingredients including lentil, chickpea and vegetable flours.
Up to 185 jobs are being created at the new City of Kentwood U.S. headquarters. Here, baked crackers, tortilla chips and veggie chips and straws will be manufactured and packed along with new product research and development.
The City of Kentwood was in competition with a Chicago location. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is supporting the project with a $1 million performance-based grant and regional economic development nonprofit, The Right Place, is providing $5,000 worth of in-kind services.
