As Michigan prepares for an influx of snow and ice, the United State Postal Service says it's prepared to meet its holiday deadlines

The postal service has been delivering mail for over 200 years during the holiday season and is prepared to deliver in harsh weather conditions. That’s according to USPS spokesperson Elizabeth Najduck.

But Najduck says there are situations when mail carriers are unable to deliver a package if the customer hasn’t taken care of their property.

“In an extreme situation, I mean depending upon how much snow there is, how much ice there is, how much build up there is. A carrier, because of safety, may not be able to deliver to the customer that day.”

The final day to have send mail to arrive before Christmas through the post office is Friday. You would have to use express service.
