Crews are 'ready to go' on $250 million Muskegon Lake development

Adelaide Pointe's ability to dock large boats could drive tourism to the area, say officials.

After months of public hearings and planning, construction is set to begin this month on a $250 million Muskegon Lake development known as “Adelaide Pointe.”

The new development includes a new hotel, condominiums, pool, restaurant, event space, boat sales and boat rentals.

It also includes a new marina that can handle large boats and yachts, something that the city of Muskegon currently doesn’t have. That’s good for the city’s vision of expanding tourism to the area, says Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber President, Cindy Larson.

“We are doing a good job at planning a downtown and waterfront that our children, grand children and great grand children will enjoy for years to come,” she said.

Located on a formal industrial site, the development will include public green space and the re-launching of the Muskegon Brewing Company, with Pigeon Hill behind the beer craftifishingng.

The project is expected to be constructed by June 2024.
