President Biden says legislation passed under his administration is improving the U.S. economy. Biden made the remarks at a semi-conductor manufacturer near Bay City

Biden says the Michigan facility is a sign of the tangible results from legislation designed to promote domestic production of semi-conductor chips, a market that has been dominated by China and other countries outside the U.S.

The President says his overall economic agenda will ease concerns about inflation and increase U.S. manufacturing, but much of it is only now beginning to take effect:

“It’s been a rough few hard years for hard-working Americans. For a lot of families things are still tough. But there are bright spots where America is reasserting itself.”

Congressional leaders say they will act on Biden’s call to require freight railroad unions to accept a new contract and avoid a strike that could shut down the nation’s supply chain.
