Fremont police release audio of phone call, say man could be mentally unstable

Authorities have released the 911-call-recording of a Fremont man asking for police protection, made hours before his now-missing family disappeared.

“I need some police protection immediately. It is of vital national interest

That is sound from a 911 call that the Fremont Police Department released to WGVU. The voice is Anthony Cirigliano, who along with his wife and two teenage sons, have been missing since Monday.

In the phone call, Cirigliano claims to have highly classified information regarding the World Trade Center terrorist attacks in 2001, and says his life is in immediate danger.

“It is related to September 11th. And people want to erase me from the face of the earth. I'm not crazy, I just need some help and the US Government will take it from here.”

According to Fremont police, dispatch sent two officers to the home shortly after the 911 call. After authorities concluded that Cirigliano did not possess any weapons and that the family did not appear to be in any danger, patrol left.

By Monday afternoon, authorities say the family had vanished, leaving behind pets and an elderly family member that required full-time care. Police say the families cell phones have all been turned off.

Fremont police say at this time, foul play is not suspected, while a surveillance video spotted the family in a silver 2005 Toyota Sienna at a gas station in the Upper Peninsula.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fremont Police Department at 231-924-2400 or 911, as Cirigliano may be mentally unstable.
