When Beaumont Health and Spectrum Health merged in February, it was temporarily named BHSH System. Tuesday, it was rebranded Corewell Health.

Earlier this year, Southfield-based Beaumont Health and Grand Rapids-based Spectrum Health formed the BHSH System. The new organization dubbed “For Michigan, By Michigan” combined 22 hospitals and more than 300 outpatient facilities. It employs a healthcare team of 64,000 with 11,500 physicians and more than 15,000 nurses.

Effective immediately, the system will be known as Corewell Health. Signage will be phased in over the next two years featuring a new logo integrating bright blues and greens.

The Corewell name was selected from thousands of ideas presented by team members. A news release describes the name as a vision for “a future where health is simple, affordable, equitable and exceptional.”

Hospitals will retain regional names. In Grand Rapids, Corewell Health Blodget and Corewell Health Butterworth. Its medical groups will adapt the Corewell name.
