Five-year agreement reached.

When the 6,000 seat DeltaPlex was sold late last year, the Grand Rapids Gold, the NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, began searching for a new home. After seven seasons operating as the Detroit Pistons’ G League Grand Rapids Drive and Gold, the team explained in a statement, “Our team has been talking to several possible venues, including entertainment officials downtown, regarding a new home for the Gold. Any venue we select must meet specific criteria as laid out by the NBA and NBA G League and, of course, dates must be available too.”

Friday, during the Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention and Arena Authority finance committee meeting, team President Steve Jbara announced the team had an agreement with Van Andel Arena for the next five seasons.
