“Horrific” murder/suicide in Wyoming leaves four people dead

Authorities say, two victims are children, while three others were left alive.

The names of the victims are not being released pending family notification.

The Wyoming Department of Public Safety said Tuesday four people are dead after a man shot his girlfriend and her two daughters before turning the gun on himself.

According to a press release, officers from the Wyoming Department of Public Safety responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Godfrey Avenue after a family member of one the victims had called 911.

When police arrived, they located an adult male, an adult female and two female children that had been apparently fatally shot. Officers on scene also found three other children who were present in the house at the time of the incident but were not physically injured.

Public Safety Chief Kimberly Koster addressed the media Tuesday afternoon. She said the department’s hearts are breaking for the kids.

“This is a devastating example of domestic violence. And our officers work tirelessly every day to try to reduce this type of crime in our community.”

Officials say, the motive is still unclear. Officers were able to recover the weapon believed to have been used during the incident says, the public is not in danger.
