The Walker venue is home to the National Basketball Association’s G-League Grand Rapids Gold.

NBA Grand Rapids initially operated the Detroit Pistons’ G-League Grand Rapids Drive. The franchise recently changed hands with the Denver Nuggets’ Grand Rapids Gold. After seven seasons at the DeltaPlex, NBA Grand Rapids tells WGVU it’s now looking for a new home.

MiBiz reports the 6,000 seat DeltaPlex was sold in December for $5.5 million to Visser Development Inc. The venue ending it’s 25-year run ceasing operations the end of July.

In a statement, NBA Grand Rapids explains its next steps, “Our team has been talking to several possible venues, including entertainment officials downtown, regarding a new home for the Gold. Any venue we select must meet specific criteria as laid out by the NBA and NBA G League and, of course, dates must be available too.”

The organization says it’s in conversations with potential venues.
